Amendment 01 to Solicitation 1333ND26QNB680374 4K Recirculating Cryostat Questions and Answers (Q&A) July 28, 2026

1. Is the air-cooled compressor a strict requirement, or would a water-cooled compressor also be acceptable?

Answer: Yes, it is a strict requirement. Therefore, a water-cooled compressor is not acceptable.

2. Would DAP delivery terms be acceptable, given that the system would be shipped from Outside of the United States?

Answer: No, the only acceptable incoterms is DDP which is the most equivalent incoterms to FOB Destination.

3. Our standard payment schedule is 40% upon order, 50% upon system delivery, and 10% upon acceptance. Is there any flexibility regarding the payment terms?

Answer: There is some flexibility regarding payment terms, so submit your requested payment terms in your quotation for NIST consideration.

4. I'm currently waiting to hear back from our partners regarding the sample mount and nanopositioners. Would there be any flexibility in the submission deadline if needed?

Answer: At this time, there are no plans to extend the submission deadline.
