About this file

This Request for Quote (RFQ) No. 1333ND25QNB640340 specifies detailed minimum requirements for a Benchtop Thermogravimetric Analyzer (TGA)/Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) system. The equipment must be a laboratory benchtop unit with a furnace capable of operating up to 1750°C in an oxidizing atmosphere, with specific technical capabilities including 0.1 mg resolution, heating rates up to 50°C/min, and ability to accommodate samples up to 5 mL and 35 g.

The comprehensive package includes the TGA/DSC analyzer with advanced features such as forced-flow functionality, compatibility with reactive gas environments, mass-flow controllers, and dual thermocouple types. Additional included components are 50 small and 20 large aluminum oxide TGA measurement crucibles, a PC with Windows OS and control software, and a 2-stage vacuum rotary pump. The system must have MoSi2 heating elements, no graphite components, and be designed with a vertical top-loading configuration to meet the precise scientific and research requirements specified in the document.

RFQ NO. 1333ND25QNB640340 MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS

Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) 0001 shall meet the following minimum requirements:

The Contractor shall provide one Benchtop Thermogravimetric Analyzer (TGA)/Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) that includes the specified equipment, software, and consumables that meets the following minimum specifications:

1) The equipment shall be a laboratory benchtop unit rather than a floor standing model.

2) The furnace on the unit shall be capable of operation up to a minimum of 1750 oC in an oxidizing (air) atmosphere.

3) The resolution of the TGA system shall have a minimum of 0.1 mg.

4) The system shall accommodate heating rates up to 50 oC/min.

5) The furnace shall be equipped with MoSi2 type heating elements and contain no graphite components.

6) The TGA/DSC analyzer sample holders shall accommodate and capable of measuring samples up to 5 mL and 35 g.

7) The unit shall be constructed with a vertical top-loading design in which the sample holder arms are placed in vertical positions, and the sample holders are placed on the top of the arms.

8) The unit shall be equipped with a forced-flow functionality. Forced-flow is defined here as the ability to directly supply gas flow to the samples from the bottom of the sample holders rather than through an exhaust port in the furnace chamber.

9) The TGA/DSC system shall accommodate reactive gas environments including gas mixtures with 5% H2 at most with high concentrations of water vapor and includes the ability to heat the gas delivery tubing to the furnace to prevent condensation.

10) The TGA/DSC system shall be equipped with both a type-B thermocouple and encapsulated type-C thermocouple to accommodate the range of oxidizing to highly reducing gas atmospheres as a result of the temperature range and gas environments the equipment can perform.

11) The TGA/DSC analyzer shall come pre-installed with mass-flow controllers for the delivery gases.

a. These controllers shall accommodate flow rates of up to 20 L/h.

b. These mass-flow controllers shall be rated for air, N2, and forming gas H2/N2.

12) The system shall be supplied with a basic package of TGA and DSC calibration materials.

a. The package shall include 50 units of 0.1 to 0.2 mL aluminum oxide TGA measurement crucibles.

b. The package shall include 20 units of 5 mL aluminum oxide TGA measurement crucibles.

13) The package shall include a PC with Windows OS and the appropriate software to control the TGA/DSC unit.

14) The package shall include a 2-stage vacuum rotary pump.
