Attachment 0001 – Questions and Answers – RFQ 1333ND20QNB130033

Question Answer/Response 1 Would you have a spec on how level the existing floor is at this facility. Also would there be a layout drawing that might show floor features such as drains, grates, expansion joints and the locations of the floor equipment that must be negotiated close by to the support columns.

No layout available-no floor specifications available. No drains or grates in the typical areas of columns. See attached pics of the 2 work areas

2 What would be the lowest obstructer in the area where these two cranes will be placed. Also what headroom is available above these two WS crane installation areas? No information can be found in 4.1

We have clearance above the floor of 16ft

3 Per 4.2, what is the PSI value of the 6” of concrete and is it reinforced? No tie backs or sway bracing is required for clarification?

No tiebacks required or desired. concrete composition is unknown in these areas

4 Per 4.1, The line states electric wire rope hoist. Is this factual or would an electric chain hoist be considered which is the normal application on a 4000# work station crane.

Will be a wire rope hoist

5 Per 4.3, states hoist to have “block “operated limit switch. Wire rope hoists typically are equipped with weighted limit switches and chain hoists have rotary limits switches. Looking for 6clarification on this s7pec.

Will be a wire rope hoist

6 4.83 - What speeds are required for the VFD hoist, VFD trolley and VFD Bridge motions

Industry standards will suffice

7 4.3 – Will there be a pendant back up for the radio remote control or will there be a need for a second radio controller as a backup?

No need for pendant backup

8 4.3 – Runway power feed requirements- 4 bar power bar, festoon cable or enclosed square conductor bar? Bridge power feed, festoon or power bar?

All configurations are acceptable for best value evaluation

9 4.4 – Will the warning light/horn come on at time of power up or motion? Will the beeper stay on during the motion? Is this just for the bridge or all motions?

Warning lights/horn can be for bridge/runway motion only

10 5 – Installation, will this be done during normal Monday to Friday 1st shift hours or something different? What is the area

Normal working hours anytime between 6AM and 5 PM-tables and machinery in location between centered between columns

Attachment 0001 – Questions and Answers – RFQ 1333ND20QNB130033 around the installation area like for manlifts, fork tucks to perform the installation?

11 5 – Does NIST supply the crane power disconnects and will NIST have the electrical infrastructure already in place prior to mobilization?

NIST will install power disconnects if provided requirements in adequate time prior to scheduled installation

12 6 – How many operators will need training on site and would two -three hours be sufficient?

3-4 core users---2/3 hrs would be adequate as staff are existing crane users

13 Is a site visit possible? No site visit will be held 14 Will the cranes be installed in a tight area or in an area without space constraints in the facility?

Maximum dimensions for the exterior of crane components are required for the crane not to interfere with installed equipment in our facility.

15 Do the overall widths and lengths of 31 & 34 ft. refer to the Bridge and Runways, or the length of the entire crane?

The maximum dimensions are the limits of the erected crane structure.
