Repair

All warranty repairs shall result in the instrument’s meeting manufacturer’s specifications.

All service provided under this agreement shall be provided by trained personnel who are expert in the operation of the covered equipment.

If a part needs to be repaired off-site, the Contractor shall be responsible for all packaging, shipping and transportation costs as well as liability for the shipment to and from NIST Gaithersburg. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing a “Return Authorization Number” or other information authorizing return of the shipment to their facility prior to shipment.

The Contractor shall only employ tools, instruments, software, test apparatus, methodologies, techniques, and practices approved for use with the instrument by the manufacturer. The service protocols and instrument specifications shall be adhered to always. The Contractor shall maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.

The warranty shall commence upon successful delivery, training and demonstration of all salient characteristics.

Installation and Training o The contractor shall schedule and facilitate installation/set-up and one (1) basic user training session for up to three (3) users at NIST. The training shall provide a basic demonstration of all equipment functions, maintenance, data administration, data acquisition, and troubleshooting.

o Instrument shall operate to manufacturer’s specifications upon installation.

o Installation/training shall take place during normal business hours, between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm

Eastern Time, Monday through Friday except Federal Holidays, and shall be coordinated with the NIST Technical Point of Contact (TPOC).

o Installation and training shall occur within 105 days of award.

IV. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE

Delivery for the equipment and software shall be 90 days after award and installation and training shall be 105 days after award.

Warranty for the equipment shall be twelve (12) months after acceptance of the equipment.

OPTION: Warranty for the equipment shall be twelve (12) months after the initial 12-month warranty period.
