About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for Solicitation Number 1305M225Q0115, related to a fire system installation project for the National Geodetic Survey Testing and Training Center. The Q&A addresses technical details about the project, including building specifications and installation requirements. Key details include: the project involves installing a fire alarm system in an 8,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Woodford, VA, with a building height of 9 feet and partial drop ceilings. The timeline is flexible, with a preference for system installation within 60 days after award, and permits to be obtained through Caroline County.
The document clarifies several technical aspects of the project, such as the building use groups (office building classified as group B, warehouse as group S), the absence of an existing operable sprinkler system, and specific installation requirements. Contractors are informed that cable installation must be secured properly and approved by the Chief and Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), and that the project involves installing two completely separate systems without interconnecting cables between buildings. The local fire inspector will serve as the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), and no existing fire alarm system drawings are available for the warehouse.
