Q1:What if the ideal time to treat some of the invasive plants has passed this season for year 1 of treatment. Will we be required to treat those invasive plants?

A1:Contractors should treat all invasive plants within the treatment area where there would still be a positive biological result on controlling the invasive plant species if herbicide was applied after the contract is awarded and consistent with any label requirements on timing of applications.

Q2:How will access to the project area be controlled so that Inn guests do not enter the work site?

A2:NRCS will work with the Inn to temporarily shut down some or all the trails within the easement to assure that guests do not enter the work site. The selected contractor will still be responsible for posting re-entry signs. This will be particularly important on the West side of the easement where the State of Vermont¿s one rod of land ownership grants the public the right to access the land along the Battenkill river for fishing.

Q3:Where is the best location for parking?

A3:Parking in the gravel lot by the event barn, same as the pre-quote meeting site and along the easement right of way access along the path into the site are acceptable parking locations.

Q4:What locations are allowable if herbicide mixing is needed onsite?

A4:Follow all State laws applicable to herbicide mixing. The trail access screened by the sumacs is a potential location with visual screening and in an upland location outside of 50 foot state wetlands buffers.

Q5:Are any non-native plants within the designated treatment area not targeted for invasive plant control?

A5:Any non-native and invasive plants that are on the Vermont Forest Parks and Recreation¿s list as of 7/13/21 and are designated as Class A or B noxious weeds or on the related watch list should be controlled within the treatment area. This does include the Common Valerian, and that is an update to the information shared during the

Q6:How frequently will contractors need to notify

NRCS about daily herbicide application plans?

A6:Timing of contact should be done per the

Statement of Work. Typically daily notification will be necessary. NRCS can let the landowner know that work is planned for a week or multiple week time period and make certain that trails are closed accordingly within the easement.

3. There are no additional changes by reason of this amendment. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
