Contractor Solicitation Questions
Smith/Paxton WRE Site Preparation Clark Co Illinois
Solicitation Number: 12FPC325Q0044 Date: 08 August 2025 Solicitation Amendment: 0002
1. Contractor Question: With weather and ground interaction being unknown and unexpected factors coming into play to complete the required performance, does the 45-day timeframe take into account inclement weather during the early-to-mid fall season?
Government Response: Yes, see the government response to Amendment 0001, Question #15 for additional information.
2. Contactor Question: 2. We anticipate the range should include up to the Simplified Acquisition Threshold of $350,000.00, will the USDA consider lifting the upper end of the compensation range to that amount for feasibility?
Government Response: No, the construction magnitude for this contracting opportunity remains from $100,000 to $250,000.
3. Contactor Question: Will tree burning be allowed onsite in the process of clearing? Allowing ash removal as a lighter debris and a less costly process.
Government Response: Refer to Construction Specification 2 – Items of work and construction details 2b – If contractor prefers to burn, the remaining debris and ash shall be placed in location as described in specification. The contractor will be responsible for all risks, damage, cost, permitting, and cleanup associated with burning.
4. Contactor Question: Can the excavated dirt be used for the mounds or will transported clay be required?
Government Response: Refer to Construction Specification 21 Items of Work for details on placement of excavated material.
