Q: Will rebar pins be required, and if so, will they be a bid item?

A: Rebar pins may be required during construction but their widespread use is not expected. Rebar pins are subsidiary to Bid Item #5 – Woven Wire Mesh Gabions.

Greg noted the baseline, benchmark, and work limits.

Q: Does the basket alignment need to follow the road where the is an excessive amount of excavation due to a wide road shoulder?

A: The streamside face of the bottom basket must be at least seven feet away from the left edge of road. The baskets can be installed farther from the road edge as long as the minimum required channel width is maintained.
