QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Geotab Telematics Installations
RFP 12FPC223Q0045
Questions and Answers (in red)
Question #1: Do you have any more information on the Driver ID device you would want installed?
Such as a wiring diagram and where it would be mounted within the vehicle? If there is no wiring diagram, can you confirm that it’s just a 3-wire install (hot, neutral, and ground) OR does it utilize a Y-cable and connect into the OBDII port?
Answer #1: The device is installed using a t-harness. Note the harness has 3 ends. One end of the harness is plugged into the vehicle’s OBD port, one end is attached to the device, and the remaining end becomes the vehicle’s new OBD port. The card reader (driver id) is plugged into the device.
Question #2: Do you know approx how many different locations the 200 installs will be located at? Are these installs spread over 5 locations, 10, 15, etc?
Answer #2: As of right now there are approximately 80+ different locations, which are widely dispersed across the country.
Question #3: Do you know how many of these locations have less than 4 vehicles?
Answer #3: The vast majority of the list contains single vehicle installations.
