Would you please let me know what size stainless steel jars are needed. The Pulverisette ball mill is available in two models. The standard model has a maximum jar size of 45.0 ml where the Professional Model has a maximum jar size of 80.0 ml. The solicitation does not note which model is referenced. The government's requirement is for the Professional Model and the jar size required is 80.0 ml.
What size diameter grinding balls? The government requires a minimum 10 mm size balls
-What quantity of grinding ballsThe Government requires a minimum of 10 grinding balls per bowl if 15 mm grinding balls are provided. If 10 mm grinding bowls are provided, the government will need a minimum of 20 grinding balls per bowl.
-Is GTM (gas and temp management system) - in-situ measuring being identified for temperature control? The requirement is that the machine includes internal control to prevent overheating and damage to the machine. The temperature control is not necessarily for in-situ measurement of temperature related to the material being processed.
-Is it attached to the bowls and sends live signals of operation data to the PC to control the mill for overheating, over pressurizing, and detailed data collection. No the unit does not need to send live signals of operation data to PC.
-If temp control is in-situ, PC control board and software is recommended or required based on intended use, is this included in the bid requirements or will be added later? The government requires full control of the machine (including parameter setting) be accessible without an additional computer as PC control. A PC is not part of this purchase (i.e. machine control and setting via display and button controls on the machine). Machine must have a digital touch screen display.
-Is the bowl safety locking feature attached/integrated to the bowl and lid connection for complete affixing between bowl and temperature measurement system ((GTM)) by screws - or integrated clamps for non-GTM bowls?Yes. that the bowl safety locking features. We do not have a prefernce for any particular type of screws or clamps.
-Are the bowls and safety locking mechanisms meant to have air/water tight seal if inert environment is needed?Yes.
-Are compatible grinding bowl sizes - 20, 45, and 80 ml?The government does not have a specific requirement for the size of compatible grinding bowls. The government requires the option to change bowl size should it become necessary.
