WILL BE ENTERTAINED
1. Can we get copies of the associated verbiage with the ASME numbers in the contract documents?
No, we are unable to share these documents. The contractor is responsible for acquiring them.
These are the original specifications from when this PPW system was first installed.
2. Can you clarify the x rays of the welds, is it to be 10% or 100% of the welds?
On page 10, section 3.4.1 "Random NDE Testing", It states: "If random testing reveals that a weld fails to meet minimum quality requirements, examine an additional 10 percent of the welds in that same group. If the additional welds examined meet the quality requirements, the entire group of welds represented shall be accepted and the defective welds shall be repaired. If any of the additional welds examined also fail to meet the quality requirements, that entire group of welds shall be rejected. Remove and re-weld rejected welds or examine rejected welds 100 percent and remove and re-weld defects."
In other words, if the additional welds (the second 10% examined within a group) fail, all welds shall be removed and defects re-welded. If a weld within this group is reviewed 100% and passes, it does not need to be removed and re-welded.
