About this file

This document includes an attachment specification and related federal contract opportunity. The attachment specifies requirements for a capillary electrophoresis instrument for separation and analysis of ionic agrochemical residues. It requires integrated diode array detection from 190-610nm, a temperature controlled capillary compartment, and a temperature controlled autosampler with 50 sample and 20 buffer outlet positions. Compatibility is required with an external contactless conductivity detector and LED fluorescence detector. The specified PrinCE Next 870 instrument meets requirements with integrated DAD and compatibility for additional external detectors.

The related federal contract opportunity is issued by the USDA Agricultural Research Service and seeks offers for the specified PrinCE Next 870 instrument or equal for use at their Parlier, California facility. It includes the solicitation number and opportunity type.

Brand Name or Equal PrinCE Next 870 Capillary Electrophoresis Instrument

SJVASC-CPQ requires a capillary electrophoresis (CE) system for the separation and analysis of ionic (charged) agrochemical residues. The CE needs to perform accurate and precise measurements of the ionic components. Multiple detection modes are required: diode array (DAD), contactless conductivity (C4D) and LED (or laser) induced fluorescence (LEDIF); where one or more of the detectors is not available from the instrument supplier directly, the instrument must be compatible with an external, third party detector. The PrinCE Next 870 uses a temperature controlled capillary compartment for precision, temperature controlled autosampler with 50 sample positions and 20 outlet positions, has an integrated DAD and is compatible with both a TraceDec C4D (provided by PrinCE) and a Picometrics LEDIF (purchased separately). We have conducted market research and have concluded the PrinCE Next 870 is an example capillary electrophoresis system that will meet the research requirements of the facility.
