Text version

1. Will a bid bond, payment/performance bond, and/or maintenance bond be required for this project?

No bond will be required.

2. Will any permits be required from ADEQ/ADWR to perform this work and if so, will the contractor be responsible for obtaining such permits?

No permits, it is an existing system.

3. Please confirm required flow rate, total dynamic head (TDH), and revolutions per minute (RPM) for the new well pump. Is there a pump make/model that is preferred or is this up to the contractor?

68.3GPM @ 400 feet of Dynamic Head. RPM of the new pump is unknown. Existing pump is a 10HP pump. No preferred make or model.

4. Please confirm required flow rate, TDH, and RPM for the new booster pumps. Is there a pump make/model that is preferred or is this up to the contractor?

The existing pumps are 2HP, Flow rate, etc., is unknown. No preferred make or model.

5. Please confirm the material of construction requirements for the new column pipe, shaft and internals to be installed within the well.

Well information is unknown; it is assumed assume that the piping will be 3” galvanized.

6. Based on the site visit and photos provided, there appears to be instrumentation (flow meter, ARV/PRV, etc.) and valving (check, gate, etc.) associated with the pumping system. Will the contractor be responsible for replacing this instrumentation and/or valving? If so, specifically which components will be replaced?

Contractor will be replacing the complete well pump, wire, well piping and the ClaVal.

7. Should the contractor anticipate reusing the existing mounting plate and concrete pad or will we be required to demo the existing and install new as part of the work?

Reuse mounting plate and pad.

8. Is there any information on the existing control panels/schematics that can be provided for review? It appears the contractor will need to provide new panels so it would be good to understand the current system operations.

Schematics for the control box are unknown.

9. Is there a specific portion of the work where removal of ACM is a concern? It would be good to understand this scope for the purposes of estimating sampling, handling, and disposal costs.

N/A

10. Could a summary of any system issues that have occurred over the past five years be provided? If so, we’d be able to take this into account when preparing our bid and even incorporate the lessons learned into future O&M.

No issues with the existing system.
