Water and Sewage Treatment Plant Generators Solicitation # 1282A720Q0072
Answers to requests for Information
Issued: June 2nd, 2020
Item 1:
The existing wiring methods employed for the current transfer switch installation is utilizing RNC (specifically Schedule-40 PVC) from the transfer switch to the generator location.
Question: Is RNC an acceptable wiring method for the installation of electrical wiring in general? If not, will the existing wiring methods be required to be upgraded as specified?
Response: The specifications apply to new work only. Use RNC for new work where allowed as outlined in the specifications. Existing wiring methods are not required to be upgraded to meet specified requirements. If new wiring is installed in existing conduits, the existing conduits need to comply with the specifications.
Item 2:
The existing CT cabinet does not meet the current PGE standard per the 2020 ESR.
Question: Should the proposal be quoted as shown or as required?
Response: E1.1 has been revised showing the existing 400 amp disconnect is to remain. Since no work is associated with the service, meter, or CT cabinet there is no need to meet current PGE standard per the 2020 ER.
Item 3:
The new service disconnect is rated for 600A whereas the existing service conductors are rated for 335A.
Question: Shall the new mast be rated at 600A or match the existing 335A?
Response: Drawing E1.1 is modified to keep the existing 400 amp disconnect; therefore, the existing service conductors remain as installed and there is no need to change the mast.

Water and Sewage Treatment Plant Generators Solicitation # 1282A720Q0072
Item 4:
Specification 263600 Paragraph 2.3C calls for a service entrance rated ATS. The one line for the Water Treatment Plant shows a fused disconnect prior to the ATS which would normally mean no Service Entrance rating required.
Question: Does the ATS for the waste water treatment plant have the same situation? Does this project require service entrance rated ATS for each location?
Response: To the best of our knowledge the waste water treatment plant has a similar arrangement. There is no need to provide a service entrance rated transfer switch at these locations.
Item 5:
Question: What are the project requirements for fueling the genset for testing and project delivery.
Response: The tank capacity in Specification 263213 Paragraph 2.2A.2 has been changed.
Paragraph 3.1G. has been added to fill the storage tank prior to generator testing and to top-off the storage tank at the end of testing and prior to acceptance.
