Lone Pine EA, Dolores Landscape Aspen EA Hillside Block Inventory and Addendum Report Question and Answer Document

Q1. Can areas of very steep slopes be removed from Class III inventory? If so, what is the minimum slope that can be removed?

A1. Areas over 25% slope were removed from inventory for the Dolores Landscape Aspen EA survey area. We were conservative in defining the survey areas – including some steeper acreage along edges of survey polygons in order to make more reasonably-shaped polygons. If steeper areas are inaccessible or would be dangerous to access, they could definitely be excluded by a contractor.

Q2. If steep areas can be eliminated from Class III coverage, will a Class II sampling strategy be required for those areas?

A2. Per the veg management PA, areas over 25% slope can be totally excluded from survey unless there is high probability for sites in those areas.
