Solicitation 1282AK18Q0033 Question and Answer Document May 21, 2018
1.) Are all of the pits drill & shoot scenarios or is a feed stock of sufficient quantity available for the bid quantities?
Feed Stock – needs some timber clearing.
2.) Is there adequate area cleared, both timber and topsoil/overburden to crush the quantity needed and if not is there ‘merchantable timber’ that would need addressed?
The only pit with stumps (FS cut the trees over the winter), topsoil, and overburden is Black Mountain. The price to remove these will be negotiated after award or performed by the forest.
3.) Is the F.S. going to have all three locations worked this 2018 season (move from one to the next)? This question relates to whether or not they can do one mobilization and move from pit to pit and be done before the snow flies in the fall.
Yes, great possibility, but would leave time for continuance in case something comes up to delay performance or if additional crushing is required next year.
4.) Are the sites accessible currently regarding snow/cover and are the roads passable for mobilization into the site with the heavy equipment necessary? If not who improves the road?
| Yes, accessible… FS will improve if needed. | |
| 5.) | Is there any info on average material sizes in pit or any pit gradation info? |
| We don’t have sizes/gradation except for general sandy to cobbles. |
