1. After the visit, we were able to verify the leaking problems that exist in Building #57 Warehouse/Laundry. Due to the height of the ceiling and not being able to perform a comprehensive inspection above the ceiling, will the USFS please clarify the following questions: What type of drywall you require us to install? Currently, there are different types installed, some smooth and others with texture. How are the ceiling panels installed? Is there a substructure on the Bar Joist where the drywall is installed? Is there insulation above the ceiling?

The finish would match the existing adjoining material. Code says 5/8” ceiling rock. The basis of design is there is insulation in the ceiling and the repair would be installed the same way the existing is.

2. In certain parts of building #13A Administrative, we noticed that the Stone cap is in bad condition (see picture below). Does the government want this replaced and included in the proposal?

No-That cap is not in the scope of work.

3. Can we tear off the entire roof, dry in, and then order the materials? The reason is that these buildings are old, out of square, and have settled. I'm afraid all the measurements will not be the same and ordering all the trim/panels before removing the shingles, felt, and repairing fascia/soffit could present a problem.

We do not feel the building are settling. Rolling out the sheets as you go could avoid the issue but not going to direct which way contractor goes. We are not comfortable with tearing off, dry in and ordering of materials approach to project.

4. Can the project be moved to 120 days to complete? The situation with materials shortage could present a problem.

We understand the materials shortage issues. Our period of performance is one part of the evaluation criteria in proposal so please annotate your projected timelines in proposal for materials.

5. Building 57 south east roof corner will not accommodate commercial gutter size required due to exposed fastened metal roof attached to facility. How would you like to proceed?

Residential gutter? Custom gutter?

That small section along the carport can be a stand-alone section of smaller size, residential. It can have a downspout of similar nature. Not to be connected to the specified material for the remaining gutter. The rest of the gutter shall be as specified in the plans and specs.

6. Is there a Sqft price required for cost of decking removal and replacement if found to be unsatisfactory?

That is what OP002 item is for.

7. Would you like NOL warranty price included? Not specifically stated type required. IE:

Single source-NOL etc.

The warranty is to be included. The contractor needs to determine how they want to do it.

8. Can contractor provide a 2" mechanically seamed panel or a 1.875" snap lock panel that meets or exceeds the panel requirements?

You need to provide pricing for what is called for to be equal with the other contractors.

9. If #4 is applicable, this would be onsite roll formed to standards yet appears to conflict with the following:

"General: Fabricate and finish metal roof panels and accessories at the factory to greatest extent possible, by manufacturer's standard procedures and processes, as necessary to fulfill indicated performance requirements demonstrated

We would accept onsite. The contractor is responsible for the finish product until final acceptance.
