Text version

Pre-bid meeting 7/16/2019 13:00 pm

1. The duration of the project at 30 days isn’t enough. Can this be changed? Yes it can be adjusted prior to the start of the project.

2. When are we planning to start the project? September 2019

3. How do we get access to the site? There will be a access code for the gate given to the contractor who gets the contract. This will allow access during the project. Once the project is complete the code will no longer work.

4. Can we work on weekends? Per the solicitation no working at nights or on weekends as requested by the ranch manager/owner.

5. Does the Buy America Act apply to the fence materials? Yes, the Buy American Act applies to this contract.

6. Will we be able to stage all the project material at the site? Yes, the ranch manager indicated that it will be safe to leave it there.

7. What do we do with the old fence material? It will be stacked and rolled neatly in a location indicated by the COR for the ranch manager. Contractor will not be required to haul anything offsite.

8. Will a concrete truck be able to drive across the project site? No, plan on not being able to direct pour the concrete from a truck to the holes.

9. Will the mapping diagrams be the layout that the contractors are held to for final approval?

There will be a pre-con meeting where we will walk and flag the entire perimeter.

10. If the fence is connected to trees every 150-200 feet will there also have to be H braces? This will be a field determination. The contractors should plan on their bid to include the H braces every 150 feet per the solicitation.

11. Will the 20 foot offset be rigidly held to when measuring the new fence? The intent is to be outside of the grass line. Field conditions will dictate the best alignment for the new fence. The alignment will be flagged in the pre-con meeting.

12. Will there need to be a road made to get the storage tank to the bottom? No. Ranch manager indicated it can be rolled down to the final location.

13. How much notice is needed if the contractor needs a FS representative at the project site?

Please allow 24 hours’ notice.
