Queson and Answers Document

127EAY24Q0027 Push Back Rack Shelving

Q1: Is a seismic study required to be performed by an interested quoter due to the locaon (California).

A1: The Forest Service is not requiring a seismic study.

Q2: If the Forest Service says a seismic study is not required, does that alleviate the company from liability for damages to the rack, supplies, or human injury, if a seismic occurrence occurs?

A2: Yes, since the Forest Service is not requiring a seismic study, your company would not be liable for damages that resulted solely from not performing a seismic study.

However, even though the Forest Service is not requiring a seismic study, this in no way removes or lessens the requirement to install the racking system according to the manufacturer’s specificaons.
