Questions & Answers Spider Excavator Rental – Tahoe National Forest

Q. What hours during the day will the USFS jeep be available?

A. The Forest Service representative, with the FS Jeep, will be working with the operator throughout the project. Work on the trail or associated travel in the Jeep could be available between the hours of 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. The operator and the FS representative would spike camp together along the trail as the excavator travels beyond the first stream crossing of Fordyce Creek as the maintenance proceeds up the trail (likely every other day or could be each day if logistics dictate).

Q. Is the contractor allowed to drive the jeep, or will it be operated driven by the USFS?

A. The Jeep will be operated by Forest Service personnel only

Q. Will the USFS provide staff daily to offer guidance to our operator “identify specific locations” for work items?

A. Yes, the Forest Service representative will be available to offer guidance throughout the project.

Q. Please provide additional photos of the road, as many as possible, please.
