Would this be an accepted form of testing for this?
Answer: This form of testing is acceptable at the company/contractor level. Additional testing for BVDV nucleic acid will be conducted by the Government on the sample provided by the Contractor. Lots of FBS which have been tested by the referenced 9CFR method may still be positive for BVDV nucleic acid when tested by the Government; such BVDV positive results would lead to rejection of the lot in question for the BVDV nucleic acid negative FBS solicitation number 12619720Q0013.
Also, at what rate value do you consider BVDV antibody as negative/ positive?
Answer: The level of BVDV antibodies considered “negative” will be determined by the assays run by the Government. We have often found in the past that the level of BVDV antibodies measured by or affecting our tests does not exactly match up with those on the company-run tests (i.e. a lot of FBS that tests 1:2 or 1:4 for BVDV antibodies by the company may come up undetectable on some or all of our assays and, thus, be accepted).
