Treatment Description

Physical/Manual Treatments

Grasses and Forbes– Hand pulling and grubbing with hoes on small isolated infestations not exceeding 5 acres.

Woody Shrubs and vines – Cutting, digging and grubbing with hand tools such as loppers, hand shears and shovels on small infestations not exceeding 5 acres.

Mechanical Treatments

Grasses, Forbes, and Woody Shrubs – Mowing and Brushing of Infested roadsides and open fields using rotary mowers.

Trees and large shrubs – Mechanically cut down invasive trees and shrubs utilizing chainsaws, and/or tree cutting devises on bobcat and tractors.

Mechanical and Herbicide Treatment Category Woody Vegetation

Trees and Large Shrubs – Cut stump application of herbicide (Selective and/or Non-selective Herbicide). Treatments involve utilizing hand shears, loppers, axes, and chain saws to cut stems and apply herbicides to stumps or basal spay applications.

Trees and Shrubs- Basal spray application of herbicides (Selective and/or Non-selective).

Treatments involve basal application of herbicides only.

Shrubs and Woody Vines – Light mowing/cutting & foliar herbicide – (Selective and/or Non-selective Herbicide). Treatments involve utilizing mowers, weed eaters, brush cutters, and chain saws followed by foliar application of herbicides to residual foliar material.

Shrubs and Woody Vines – Foliar herbicide only – (Selective and/or Non-selective Herbicide). Direct foliar spray utilizing hand-held or backpack sprayer.

Foliar Herbicide Treatment Category Herbaceous Flowering Plants, Grasses, and Vines/Semi-woody Vines

Dense open land and/or roadside NNIP – (Non-selective Herbicide and/or/in combination with Selective Herbicide). Foliar application of herbicides utilizing boom sprayers with multiple nozzles mounted or attached to tractors, ATV, or UTVs.
