REQUEST FOR QUOTATION – SAINT IGNACE OFFICE, WAREHOUSE, AND RECREATION SITES ANNUAL

MOWING SOLICITATION

SCOPE OF SERVICES AND TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:

Furnish all labor, equipment, personnel, and supervision necessary for spring cleanup and grass mowing services on the Saint Ignace and Sault Ste. Marie Ranger Districts, Michigan in accordance with the attached drawing and following specifications. No work shall be started prior to a pre‐work meeting between the Contractor and Contracting Officers Representative (COR).

Admin Site Cleanup & Mowing:

Spring Cleanup and Mowings shall include all grassy areas around the office and warehouse, areas immediately adjacent to the office complex entrance road and area immediately adjacent to Hiawatha District Office Facility Sign on US‐2, as shown on the Mowing Area Map. Spring Cleanup and Mowings at the St. Ignace Ranger Dwelling and Lake Michigan Dwelling shall include all grassy areas around the residences and garages as shown on the Mowing Area Maps. This Contract shall extend to October 31, 2018.

Spring Cleanup will consist of removal of all trash, sticks, limbs, leaves, debris, and filling in and smoothing over holes and ruts (replace sod) caused by snow removal.

Mowings are to be done on an as needed basis as instructed by the COR. The Contactor should figure on the following schedule for quoting purposes:

‐May & June: Every 7 to 10 days.

‐July, August, & September: Every 7 to 14 days.

‐October: Every 7 to 21 days.

Mowings shall include:

‐Removal of trash, sticks, and other lawn debris as needed before each mowing. Sticks, leaves, etc. can be dumped onsite as directed by the COR. Other trash can be put in the onsite dumpster.

‐Grass mowing and trimming of all grassy areas including trimming around trees, shrubs, walks, curbs, buildings, septic tank lids, etc.

‐Removal and cleanup of all grass clippings and other debris from sidewalks, driveways, and other hard surfaces.

The contract does not include any lawn fertilization, pruning of trees and/or shrubs, weed removal or treatment, dethatching, aeration, insect or rodent control

Work Hours: All work shall be completed after hours and on weekends. No work is to be performed during regular business hours (Monday‐Friday 8:00am‐4:30pm).

Recreation Site Mowing:

Recreation Site Mowing to include mowing, weed whacking, blowing sidewalks and parking lots 4 times during the summer. Once in May, twice in June and once in August.

1 ½ acres – Mow & weed whack entrance area – both sides, including around sign. Mow one strip around the campground roads/spurs. Mow & weed whack around bulletin boards, parking lot & toilets, Blow out or sweep entire roadway/camp spurs and parking lot.

THREE LAKES DAY USE AREA, Section 6, T45N, R5W, Kinross Trout Lake Township, Chippewa County.

½ acre, Mow/weed whack picnic area & area around toilet and bulletin boards, plus one strip around the parking lot/roadway. Blow out or sweep entire parking lot.

BIG PINE DAY USE AREA, Section 13, T47N, R4W, Bay Mills Township, Chippewa County.

½ acre, ¼ acre – one strip around the parking lot, plus entrance sign. Weed whack/blow along picnic area pathways and around picnic sites/benches. Blow out or sweep entire parking lot.

NAOMIKONG OVERLOOK, Section 8, T47N, R5W, Bay Mills Township, Chippewa County.

½ acre, ¼ acre – one strip around the parking lot and around toilet. Weed whacking along overlook wall. Blow out or sweep entire parking lot.

MONOCLE LAKE DAY USE & BOAT LAUNCH

AREAS, Section 14, T47N, R3W, Bay Mills Township, Chippewa County.

2 acres – Mow/weed whack picnic area, boat launch area and one strip around pathways/parking lots. Blow out or sweep entire parking lots.

BARK DOCK, Section 11, T47N, R6W, Whitefish Township, Chippewa County.

½ acre ‐ parking lot island, one strip around parking lot and pathway, plus area around toilet.

Blow out or sweep entire parking lot.

Safety: Contractor shall operate machinery in a safe manner and wear proper safety equipment.

Extreme caution shall be exercised to prevent flying debris. When mowing close to buildings (first two rounds), mower deck should be facing away from buildings. Use caution when mowing around septic tank lids.

Inspection & Acceptance: Inspections will be made after spring cleanup, and on a routine basis or at time of mowing. Any work that needs to be corrected will be brought to the attention of the Contractor, who will have 24 hours to correct the deficiency for acceptance of work.

Payments: Partial payments will be made monthly. If your company does not take credit cards you will be required to register in our invoicing system for payment. For more information please log onto http://www/ipp.gov/ for details.

Wage Determinations: This contract is subject to the Service Contract Act, applicable wage rates are enclosed and are to be followed when hiring employees.

Contract Clauses: Contract clauses included by reference are in the attached pdf document.

Basis of Award: One contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible quoter. Ability to meet the details listed in the Request For Quotation will be considered as a primary factor to determine if a quoter can be responsible for this contract.
