About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for the FPL Starkville Sewer Replacement solicitation. The document addresses eight key inquiries from potential contractors regarding project scope, site access, technical specifications, and contractual requirements.
The document clarifies that no pre-scheduled site visit is mandated, though contractors may arrange one independently. Both sewer lines feeding into Manhole #1 are active and must remain operational during construction via bypass systems, with temporary shutdowns permitted upon 2 business-day notice to the facility contact. Contractors are responsible for field verification of the existing gravity sewer line size and must replace it with identical dimensions. The existing sewer line invert elevations are unknown, requiring contractor measurement in the field. The existing sewer lines into Manhole #1 will remain above the new concrete bottom and do not require relocation. No permits are required as this is a federally-owned property project, and a bid bond is not required. A critical correction notes that the sewer line length is 165 feet between manholes, not 65 feet as previously indicated.
