About this file
This document contains questions and answers regarding Amendment 0001 for the solicitation to reconstruct the Irwin Run Canoe Boat Launch. The solicitation is being conducted by the Department of Agriculture Forest Service. Drawing C-02 originally designated a 35-inch red oak tree for protection but it is located within the new roadbed and will need to be removed. The drawing also marked an 85-inch red maple tree for removal with an arrow pointing to protect it, but the question clarifies the tree is actually a 35-inch red oak that requires removal due to its location within the new roadbed. The white pine tree near the red oak in the same area is also designated for protection, but it likely will not survive the road construction.

Q&A Document - Irwin Run Canoe Boat Launch Reconstruction – 12445522R0018
#1 Question:
Drawing C-02 has a X marked over the 85” Red Maple, which based on the key represents removal but then has an arrow pointing to it to protect. Please advise on if this is going to be removed.
#1 Answer:
Drawing sheet C-02 has an X marked over a 35” Red Oak tree but has the arrow to protect. I am assuming that is the one the question refers to.
If so, that tree is located within the new roadbed and will need to be removed. That tree was originally designated to protect, but it’s in the roadbed.
The white pine in that same area is designated to protect also which we don’t believe it will survive the road construction either.
