1.0 Project Location

2.0 Scope of Work

• Replace leaking evaporator coil in Air Handling Unit (AHU) #2

• Replace leaking evaporator coil in Air Handling Unit (AHU) #3

3.0 Background

The Southern Hardwoods Lab (24-0021-STO) is a 17,327 square-foot building, constructed in 1962. The building is a one-story structure and is primarily used as office space, with some supporting research laboratory and storage space. The building will be occupied during the execution of this work. The building utilizes 4 Air Conditioning units to cool the building. Two of the three Air Handling Units have leaking evaporator coils and are no longer functional. The contractor shall provide all labor and materials required to replace the leaking evaporator coils with new coils. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with applicable building codes, NEC, state and local regulations. All electrical work shall be performed by a licensed electrician. All materials and equipment shall be installed as directed by manufacturer.

Contractor Requirements

4.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks

4.1 Replace Evaporator Coils

AHU #2: Contractor shall perform the following tasks.

- Recover refrigerant

- Disconnect hydronic piping, condensate piping, and refrigerant piping Disassemble air handler

- Remove evaporator coil

- Provide and install new evaporator coil

- Reconnect hydronic piping, condensate piping, and refrigerant piping Replace filter driers

- Pressure test refrigerant circuits

- Pull proper vacuum

- Recharge system with refrigerant

- Start up and test operations

AHU #3: Contractor shall perform the following tasks.

- Provide hoisting equipment

- Recover refrigerant

- Disconnect hydronic piping, condensate piping, and refrigerant piping Disassemble air handler

- Remove evaporator coil

- Provide and install new evaporator coil

- Reconnect hydronic piping, condensate piping, and refrigerant piping Replace filter driers

- Pressure test refrigerant circuits

- Pull proper vacuum

- Recharge system with refrigerant

- Start up and test operations

5.0 Materials

5.1 Evaporator Coils

6.0 Submittals

Manufacturer data and specification sheets provided within 10 calendar days of completion and prior to submission of invoice.

7.0 Government Furnished

Access to the work site during normal business hours (0730-1700 M-F, excluding Federal Holidays) Parking and storage areas in the vicinity of the work area. Coordinate final locations with SPOC.

120V power supply in the vicinity of the work area. Contractor shall provide any required extension cords.

Access to public restrooms.

8.0 Travel

Travel costs associated with the work shall be included in the overall fixed price provided in response to this SOW.

9.0 Contractor’s Key Personnel

Contractor’s Key Personnel and associated key duties are noted below. Any proposed changes to Key Personnel shall be approved by the COR prior to implementation.

11.0 Schedule

The Contractor shall begin performance within 14 calendar days and complete it within 30 calendar days after receiving authorization to begin work from the Contracting Officer.

12.0 Security Requirements

Contractor’s employees and subcontractors are required to check in with the site point of contact every day prior to beginning work. On site POC will coordinate daily requirements for sign in and provide access to work areas as needed.

13.0 Clean Up/Disposal

Contractor shall provide daily removal of work-related debris and trash from the building to the disposal location.

Contractor shall provide final cleaning to restore workspace to original condition or better.

Onsite Dumpster is NOT available for use by the Contractor.

The Contractor is encouraged divert as much material as possible from disposal in a solid waste landfill by utilizing salvage businesses for the recyclable content generated from the work.
