Contractor Requirements

Technical Requirements / Tasks

3.1 Celina Lake Dam Valve Inspection

The Celina Lake Dam Valve is seized. The Forest Service (FS) has assessed the gear box, and it appears to be free. We are interested in contracting the inspection of the valve and lift system to see what is keeping it from opening and closing.

3.2 Saddle Lake Dam Valve Inspection

The Saddle Lake Dam Valve will not close completely but does move freely. The FS is interested in contracting the inspection of the valve and lift system to see what is keeping it from closing completely.

3.3 U-38 Lake Dam Valve Lift-Stem Inspection

The U-38 Valve Lift-Stem system has come loose from the wall of the inlet structure. It appears to be within the top 6 feet of the riser; however, there could be additional issues below. The request for this dam is to inspect the entire inlet structure for proper operation of the valve, lift, and stem system.

3.4 Inspection Report

A written report that contains a detailed description of the repairs needed, a list of materials, and an itemized cost estimate to complete needed repairs. Any needed repairs will be funded under a future contract when funding becomes available.

Government Furnished

4.1 Valve Structure As-Built Drawings

A copy of the valve structure as-built drawings can be provided upon request.

4.2 Access Keys

Keys to access the dam valve structures will be provided.

Deliverables / Schedule A written report that contains a detailed description of the repairs needed, a list of materials, and an itemized cost estimate to complete needed repairs shall be submitted after completion of valve inspections. Any needed repairs will be funded under a future contract when funding becomes available.

Contractor’s Key Personnel Both Celina and Saddle Lake Inlet Structures have two chambers, one wet and one dry. The valves for both dams are located on the lake side in the wet chambers. U-38 has only one chamber. All work performed inside the inlet structures are considered a permit required confined space. Personnel entering the inlet structure shall be currently confined space certified and follow all OSHA 29 CFR 1910 regulations.
