12444323Q0021 Questions and Answers 03-13-2023
1. Will 202 the crop tree release listed in the technical specifications be solicited on a separate contract?
a. NO. That work was dropped as there was no interest last year. It may be added back in the future but will NOT be added on this contract.
2. Is there an estimated stem count for the target spray blocks?
a. There are on estimated stem counts. Sites were all broadcast sprayed with a KMC machine, most stems under 15 feet in height are already dead. Sites 404051 & 440013 are off open forest roads and can be viewed anytime. Sites 340043 & 340006 need to have a gate opened for access, this can be arranged as along as prior notice is provided.
3. If the stem count is high enough where we would exceed the 2.5 quarts of herbicide per acre to properly treat the area, would that be permitted?
a. Unlikely that the stem count will be high enough to surpass the 2.5 quarts per acre if “overspray” is limited. Keep in mind that the 2.5 quarts is of pure herbicide. The specifications call for a 50% mix. If that mix is used, it would have to be over 5 quarts of mix per acre. This work has been performed on a few stands and the maximum limit was never reached; however there may be extreme cases where that could be possible.
