About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract opportunity 12444226Q0173 addressing the Purchase of Culvert Supplies. The document clarifies specifications and requirements for aluminized steel (AT2) culvert pipe and related components.

Key product specifications confirmed include: AT2 stands for Aluminized Coating (not Aluminized Steel Type 2); the 48-inch arched culvert dimensions are 57" × 48"; the arched band is standard 48" AT2 with 12-gauge specification; the 24-inch band is standard AT2 Wide Metal Band; and lifting lugs are standard lugs for lifting pipe with 68 lugs allocated for 74 pipe pieces. Notably, 12-gauge AT2 arched pipe is acceptable as an equal or better alternative to the originally specified 14-gauge, with dimensions of approximately 57" × 38" acceptable. Unit of issue is specified as individual pieces (Each) in stated lengths: 30 feet long, 20 feet long, and 10 feet long per culvert pipe. Delivery must occur within 30 days after receipt of award, with phased delivery acceptable. The contractor is responsible for unloading pipe, and trucks cannot exceed 53 feet in length. Manufacturer certificates, technical submittals, and country-of-origin documentation must be submitted with quotation submission rather than after award.
