1. They said the plans say we will tell them where to get the boulders for bollards so they were asking if that is true and if so, where. If not, can it just be from a quarry meeting the size requirements.

That was a misunderstanding. The language on the plans was intended to say that the FS will locate the placement of the barrier rocks onsite. The contractor is responsible for sourcing them. Any rock meeting the size specified is allowable.

2. What is the timing to complete the project? I mentioned that it may be needed to complete the 3 camp sites to the left after coming over the bridge first. I wasn’t sure. Alexandra mentioned that you were going to include a vehicle/pedestrian traffic plan for the bridge.

The contract time is 90 days. We do have a preference to complete those 3 sites prior to April 1 opening, but the phasing of work will depend on the contractor’s construction schedule, which they will submit following award.

Given the exact construction schedule is to be determined, traffic control requirements cannot be well defined and are not included in the current scope. If a modification for traffic control is necessary following award, we will provide specifics and ask the selected contractor for a proposal.

3. They mentioned that the base bid had 130 bollards and there are 130 bollards in the option as well. Just wanted clarification on that.

That was an error in the SOI. Those quantities should not have been duplicated. See attached corrected SOI dated 02/20/2024.

4. At the very end of the trail where it comes back out on the road, do you want a boulder there?

Minor questions such as this can be decided at the time of the kickoff, following award.

Purpose in accordance with specifications and plans contained in the solicitation.

5. The weight limit on the bridge says 10 tons. Need to let them know that sign is obsolete.

Yes. A more recent load rating of the bridge determined that no load restrictions/weight limits are required. The sign is obsolete.

6. Where can they stockpile materials?

The contractor may stockpile materials anywhere in the lower loop of the campground as long as it does not obstruct the road to the upper loop or the pedestrian route to the trail.
