QUESTIONS AT THIS TIME.
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
QUESTION 1: I saw that the solicitation lists "the primary type of masticator to be used on these task orders will be the vertical shaft, or rotary disc....". This statement says primary not mandatory.
We currently have a horizontal headed Tigercat in addition to numerous hand crews and experience in Pine Beetle management. We may some time in the future obtain a vertical shafted masticator.
We would like to be able to bid on this IDIQ. I would like to solicit your opinion with regards to the potential to have a bid rejected due to equipment discrepancies. I look forward to hearing from you.
ANSWER: Statement of Work (SOW) SPECIFIC TASKS, Paragraph 5.1, Item #1 – Mastication/Chipping – Timber Stands. The type of work issued through Task Order(s) under the resultant contract will primarily require the use of a vertical shaft or rotary disc masticator.
See SOW paragraph titled, “Contractor Furnished Items”. Under the paragraph, “Contractor Furnished Items” in the SOW, it says, “and equipment necessary to perform the work as described herein.” As such, the contractor furnished equipment can be either owned, leased, rented or borrowed. In accordance with paragraph 5.1 of the SOW, the successful contractor will be required to perform the work as required under Task Orders. (SEE AMENDMENT 0001).
QUESTION 2: Could you please tell me if the Combined Synopsis/Solicitation posted as solicitation number 12435H19Q0008 on FBO contains requirements similar to any work performed currently or in the past, or will this be a new requirement?
If possible, can you please provide the most recent contract or task order number?
ANSWER: This is a new requirement for these type services within the Chattahoochee National Forests
