Lucky Peak Nursery Remodel Site Visit Questions:
1. D101 note 14 states, “remove water hydrants that are cracked and broken”. Can you provide a quantity of hydrants that need to be removed? Are we required to replace the hydrants?
Answer: There are 2 small water hydrants in room 100. Remove and cap the lines. Patch the concrete slab. The contractor is not required to replace the hydrants.
1. P401 Tie into existing water main under slab. Code says no joints under slab on Gav pipe. Suggestion to tie in on exterior and run around to restroom area on outside and stub up with Poly to access area a with isolation valve.
Answer: Bring waterline around and provide service entry near new toilet. Provide isolation valve and poly pipe.
1. C2 note “Surface and define existing aggregate surfaced roadway (14 FT Width Typical)”. After the site visit, much of the roadway/parking area appeared to be mostly mud with a little bid of rock.
2. Are you expecting the contractor to just regrade these areas? Or are you expecting the contractor to import more base rock to create a solid roadway and parking lot?
The contractor is expected to perform minimal grading/shaping of the roadway and parking area to ensure proper drainage, and surface the roadway with 3” New Aggregate Surface Course, Grading G
2. Is there a required depth of base for the road and parking lot?
3” depth of new aggregate surfacing. See revised drawing sheets.

1. I plan to submit a quote to bidding contractors for the air compressor for this project. The air compressor schedule states that the rating is 90 cfm. The compressor listed (Ingersol Rand SS3L3) is only rated at 11.3 cfm. What is the actual required cfm’s for this project?
Answer: The requirement is for a minimum of 11.3 CFM at 90 PSI delivery rate.
Clarifications and Amendments to the drawings:
General:
1. Some general compass directions may differ between drawings due to the building being oriented almost 45 degrees off of north. Architecture plans tend to orient and refer to the southwest wall as the south wall, whereas the electrical drawings tend to refer to the same wall as being the west wall and the southeast wall as south.
2. Moving the southeast overhead door to the east:
a. Does not change the location of the large cone tumbler, do not adjust cone tumbler from shown location.
b. Allows for more space for electrical equipment layout on the west side of the door. See sheet E400 “Extractory Room South Wall.”
c. Requires schematical adjustment of electrical to accompany the change.
3. The location of the conveyor belt from the cone tumbler through the wall to the cone grinder is shown schematically. This conveyor will be modified by others to accommodate the new arrangement and the wall penetration will need to be fully coordinated.
I Sheets:
4. Sheet I100, Item 11 Gravity Table: The gravity table is being changed to “Move and Install.” The gravity table is made up of 4 major components, the gravity table proper which is mounted on a concrete block (block to be replaced), a hopper table and feed equipment, an access stair and platform, and dust collection hood. Other miscellaneous associated with the gravity table shall be moved by others.
5. Sheet I101, Gravity Table: The gravity table is now on the move list.
Gravity Table photos for reference:
· The gravity table proper has the nameplate on it. It is 120 volt, 15 amp and has electrical connections to the hopper equipment (the green equipment on the hopper table in the bottom photo) and dust collection hood (light).
· See other directions on the platform which is physically attached with some bolts to the hopper (if there is a lack of directions, it shall be moved and reattached, but the intent right now is to replace it).
· 3-ft access minimum (may be shared or in pathways) is required on the side with the sign “Gravity Table” for control access, and 6-ft is required on the left side of the table proper for seed collection table and workspace.
· Access platform may be on the existing side shown, the opposite side, or the side opposite of the dust collection hood. Working preference is the existing side. Coordinate proposed location changes with Contracting Officer for approval.
P Sheets
6. Sheet P101: Keyed Note P5: Schematic drawn (not located) existing domestic cold water line service, treat as directed.
M Sheets
7. Sheet M101, Keyed Notes M2 floor plan locations:
a. These are shown diagrammatically and coordination is required to connect moved dust collection hoods and mounting them in their proper locations over their related equipment.
b. The connection and hood for the Scalper shall be located over the Scalper, not the overhead door to the Scalpers right.
c. An additional M2 connection shall be provided and installed with the hood for the Big Clipper.
d. The connection and hood for the Gravity Table shall be completely installed with the change to install the existing Gravity Table. Ensure that dust collection system does not interfere with access to the hopper and hopper access platform.
8. Sheet M101, Keyed Notes M3 floor plan locations:
a. The M3 location shown on the floor plan left of the Gravity Table shall be located instead on the wall between the Big Clipper and the DeWinger, to the left of the window. Coordinate closely with Big Clipper electrical controls and receptacle to avoid workspace issues and access, see also sheet E200. Electrical controls take precedence.
b. The M3 location shown on the floor plan right of the Cone Tumbler shall be moved to the right of the window where the Cone Tumbler controls (3C and 3D) are located on the left side (on wall almost directly below sheet E200 3A keyed note, left hand edge of Cone Tumbler).
c. An additional M3 connection shall be located on the far long wall between the Plinko and the Brush Machine, to the plan right of the window.
Electrical Sheets
9. E001 Feeder One-Line Schematic: The Extractory building existing feeder to the MulitPurpose Building does not originate per either shown method, but out of a panelboard fed from the motor control center and located in the upper floor of the Extractory building on the wall to the right of the gutter shown on sheet E100 photo “Interior, Northeast Corner Of Extractory Building,” circuit 13,15, #2 AWG. Circuit is the upper left conduit, see photo below.
10. ED101, Item 8 DeWinger: The DeWinger is existing, not new. Amperage draw is not known other than as shown.
11. ED101, Item 11 Gravity Table: The Gravity Table has been changed to existing. (it was in working condition). See information above. The gravity table is cord and plug connected, but has three pieces connected via two flex conduit circuits between them.
12. ED101, Item 18 Dip Tank: The Dip Tank is not being moved from it’s existing home.
13. ED101, Existing Motor Control Center: This is shown for reference, and though circuits may be removed and abandoned, it will remain in place.
14. E100, Panelboard MP Schedule: Add circuit 48, QOB115GFI, #12 AWG, Outlet: Shop southeast wall north side (Gravity Table).
15. E200, floor plan: add outlet on new circuit MP-48 for Gravity Table, may be about 3-ft to the right of the outlet (on circuit MP-47) by the north most overhead door. Coordinate outlet location with the Gravity Table Layout. This replaces empty conduit and disconnect 11D shown.
16. E400, Extractory Room South Wall equipment layout detail: There should be more room now for the equipment with the overhead door location change.
17. E700, Gravity Table One-Line Schematic (11): Delete detail, this is being replaced by a dedicated outlet, see above.
