About this file

This document contains questions and answers regarding a federal solicitation for a trail bridge replacement project on the Payette National Forest. The project involves designing, purchasing, delivering and installing a 60 foot span prefabricated steel truss trail bridge and two precast concrete grade beams at a remote site that will require use of a helicopter to transport materials. Access to the bridge location is limited to non-motorized use, so any equipment would need to be flown in. The contractor is responsible for coordinating equipment weights with helicopter lift capacity and ensuring footings are appropriately located for bridge placement. Compaction testing is not required. A 6-inch geocell material meeting the attached specification is suitable for placement below the precast beams.
