ITEMS DISCUSSED:
1. Locations for tower and antennae pole were discussed, however, the locations are only limited by sheet E01 “Pole Notes” 1 and E02 “Installation Notes” 1. The antenna pole for Antelope Flat receiver may be mounted close enough to the well control mounting to not require any underground circuit, however it is not allowed to block access to any equipment new or existing.
2. Reiteration: It is the intent that the Antelope Flat receiver at the well controls (see sheet E02) only include the tall antenna pole as the transmitter may be mounted on the existing well control mounts. See sheets E01 “Pole Notes” 7 and E02.
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Q. What is the depth to the valve at the Storage Tank.
A. Depth to Valve Chamber at the Concrete Storage Tank = 12 ft - 6 inches from Top of Tank to the
Valve Chamber (taken from original design drawings).
Q. In Section L.2 (Quote Preparation Instructions), B (Technical Proposal, 1 (Past Performance and Company Experience) it says:
Quality and timeliness of performance, business relations and customer satisfaction, cost, and cost control on previous contracts; and company experience for similar range fencing work and cattleguard installation.
To our knowledge, there is nothing in this project that includes work on range fencing work and cattleguard installation. Is that correct? How would you like us to address that question in the proposal, so our bid is not disqualified?
A. The statement regarding range fencing and cattleguard installation is incorrect. The sentence is changed to read: Quality and timeliness of performance, business relations and customer satisfaction, cost, and cost control on previous contracts; and company experience for similar electrical installation projects.

Solicitation Number 1240LT22Q0118 – AMENDMENT 01 Ross Springs & Antelope Flats Telemetry Controls Project
Q. When we were looking at the Antelope Flats option to this job, there was some discussion between the engineer and an electrician about using braided wire rather than solid. He said that it was acceptable if certain connectors were used. Is there more information that I need have regarding electrical so my electrician can bid it accordingly? For an “apples to apples” comparison, should we all just bid exactly what the plans state for now and address questions like that after the award is made? (I don’t want to bid higher and loose the project because I followed the plans and someone else used something that was less expensive?
A. Braided wire is not acceptable except for use in grounding systems where flexibility is required, it is not expected that these situations exist and so it may not have been addressed in section 260526. However, the question may have been referencing “stranded wire” for use in smaller gauges. Section 260519 does not allow the use of stranded conductors in smaller gauges. This is typical due to many smaller terminations do not work well with small-stranded conductors;
however, much control work looks better with and is easier to work with when using stranded conductors. If #14-, 12-, and 10-gauge stranded wires are used, crimp on connectors shall be used except where box type terminations are provided specifically listed for the stranded connectors.
Q. Do you plan on having this project complete before or after the water filtration project? We are wondering if we need to include in our bid, hooking up the new telemetry system to the new water filtration system at Ross Springs?
A. We will not know the timing of awards in advance of this Proposal Due Date. Award will be based on offers received. The timing and sequencing of these projects is unknown. Technical proposals and price quotes shall be prepared and submitted in accordance with scope of work, contract documents, and solicitation amendments.
