(vi) Description of Requirement

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Forest Service (FS), Dixie and Manti-LaSal National

Forests have a need for UTVs meeting the following specifications.

01. EN 3110: One, 6 Passenger UTV: The UTV must be capable of off-trail travel, 4 season operation

(spring, summer, fall and winter) and 6-person capacity. The UTV will be used as a utility vehicle for hauling people and requires cargo space to carry project supplies such as chain saws, fuel, and supplies to the work site in addition to simultaneously transporting 6 passengers.

The Forest Service fire and fuels staff typically carry drip torches, jerry cans, chainsaw dolmars, and may carry fuel tanks for filling drip torches in the bed of UTVs during prescribed fire projects and in support of wildfire suppression efforts. The UTV is used to reach areas inaccessible or too rough for a truck. Not being able to carry fuel in the bed of the UTV will place unnecessary risk of injury on employees having to carry the needed supplies or cause damage to trucks pushed to reach project areas.
