Questions and Answers for Manti-LaSal National Forest Picnic Table Pads Solicitation #1240LS22Q0013

Q1: Little Bear Site/ Small 3” tree removal for concrete pad. Will trees need to be moved off site?

A: The trees encountered on site will be placed in a location on site and will not need to be removed from the stie.

Q2: Tie Fork Table Staging Area, Will the contractor also be able to store gravel at the site?

A: Yes, if there is room, also a more central location may be where chips are currently placed between the Forks of Huntington and the Big Rock Camp sites. Other locations could also be used on a site by site basis.

Q3:Big Rock Campground, Bid Option to Replace Fire Ring?

A:The item was not listed as a replacement item, but clearly could use replacement. I will work with the group to see if this should be added as a bid option item.

Q4:Nearest Concrete Batch Plants A: Nielson’s, Geneva as well as others in Sanpete County

Q5: Concrete Washout Locations for concrete trucks?

A: An on site washout location will be designated, the material may require a hole dug and material buried depending on the site.

Q6: Old Folks CG, Site 5 There is a tree tipping over, who will take care of it?

A: I will notify the rec group and the FS will take care of the hazard tree for camping season

Q7: Will the FS remove the stump/roots?

A: More than likely we would have the contractor remove the stump if it is in the way. The stump could be left on site in a marked location.

Q8: Will the concrete for the sidewalk taper off or have a formed edge?

A: The sidewalk concrete will have a formed edge for gravel to tie into.

Q9: When will the road chipping project happen in Huntington Canyon?

A: State road says the chipping will happen the week of June 6th and be finished by the end of the week.

Additional Questions:

1. Do we know if the slabs that need to be demoed contain rebar?

A: The cinderblock table supports should have “J” rebar that attach the block to the slab. We are not sure if the slab is reinforced, so we would just have to plan on the slabs being reinforced.

2. For trees that we demo do we leave on site or haul off?

A: We will plan on trees being left on site in marked locations.
