Questions for Solicitation 1240LR22R0002 Red Canyon VC Fencing
1. Fall Protection. When working near the edge Fall Protection will be needed. Where are we able to install an anchoring system?
Answer: Means and methods should be determined by the contractor.
2. Will the lookout areas be open while work is being performed? After the Fence is demoed and concrete being poured how do we control the public?
Answer: If possible, the lookout areas will be closed during the work. This will be coordinated with the COR prior to the work.
3. Can the fencing be demolished all at once or will you need it demod in sections as work is performed?
Answer: Fencing CAN be demolished all at once.
It would be PREFERRED that it not be, and that sections can be worked on while other sections remain open, but that approach is not required.
Method & Means of fencing removal remains the Contractor’s decision, and the Contract allows for the Contractor to do what is deemed appropriate.
4. The fencing calls to be powder coated, are we able to powder coat in pieces and then assemble on site.
10' sections may be hard to fit in the bays.
Answer: Drawing A201 notes allow the contractor to fabricate and assemble in units that work for them. This will be up to the contractor.
5. Are we able to get concrete trucks to the pour or will we require a pump?
Answer: No. Access to each of the individual sites is via 6-ft wide asphalt walking paths. Small skid steers and UTV/Trailer combinations are allowed on the asphalt paths.
There are no accessible routes through the trees/vegetation, or via the walking paths, to get Concrete Mixer Trucks to the actual sites.
Method & Means of Concrete Placement remains the Contractor’s decision, considering the limited access via asphalt walk paths.
6. Do we have water and power near the site?
Answer: Water is available June-September. Limited Electrical power is available at the site for construction purposes. The Contractor will be responsible for coordinating modifications to existing power to allow for his use.
