2024 Arapaho-Roosevelt National Forest Spring Planting Contract
This requirement is for refrigeration trailers to store and cool approximately 393,200 seedlings during the FY24 Arapaho-Roosevelt planting project. Seedlings will be delivered from the tree nursery in Nebraska.
To maintain seedling viability, prevent mold, cull, and mortality, seedlings must be refrigerated to maintain a temperature of approximately 35 degrees Fahrenheit. Each trailer shall have a Self-contained refrigeration system that runs off diesel fuel. Due to the number of seedlings and sensitive need for the seedlings to remain cooled, six trailers will be needed for this project.
Four trailers will be utilized for storing seedlings on the Grand Lake Ranger District at Shadow Mountain Village, Grand Lake, CO with an estimated period of performance of 5/28/2024 through 7/8/2024. As all four trailers may not be needed for the total of the estimated period of performance, the COR will coordinate with the contractor on timelines for pickup when the need is no longer recognized for each trailer and contractor will only invoice base upon actual performance under the contract.
Two trailers will store seedlings on the Boulder Ranger District at the Boulder District Office, Boulder, CO with an estimated period of performance of 5/28/2024 through 6/24/2024. As both trailers may not be needed for the total of the estimated period of performance, the COR will coordinate with the contractor on timelines for pickup when the need is no longer recognized for each trailer and contractor will only invoice base upon actual performance under the contract.
The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment (six refrigeration trailers), supervision, workman’s compensation, unemployment insurance, transportation, supplies (expect those designated as Government-furnished) and incidentals, to perform all work necessary to store and cool seedlings in the area specified. The contract includes trailer delivery, fueling pickup, and necessary repairs. All aspects of the work program shall be performed in an organized, systematic manner to assure services shall be performed over the entire unit. Contractor shall provide fuel and fueling services as necessary to maintain refrigeration.
