1240LP24Q0071 - Amendment 0001 – Questions and Answers
# 1 & #2 both call out characteristics that are specific to a specific brand name. Is this the ONLY brand acceptable?
No this was to help with the description. It is equal to.
# 14 is a call out for the crossmembers that directly contradicts the callout in #1 & #2 – meaning the BASE B4 option of Load Nester Design #3 – does NOT come with 2” x 4” cross member tubes. Can you please specify if there is a brand name requirement – or which of these requirements is priority over the other.
No there is no brand name requirement. It is similar or equal to. These are to reference the style of racks.
No matter what the racks must be made to work with the other racks. The parties can come take measurements now if they want a better idea of exact measurements. Whomever is the successful bidder will be given a rack to make sure that they work together.
There are several places requesting design submittals. But if a current rack is being sent to us after award and we must fabricate to fit existing design / setup – would this even apply? Was this left on the drawing from previous bid before a design was secured? Is the drawing provided by GOVT not already the exact design required? I assume if we deviate from that- it would not fit existing hardware. Can you please clarify.
The design sheet is to get the basis of what is needed and then the final step is to make sure they fit with the previous pallet racks.
Is the 2500 lb load limit for one unit? Thus, if stacking requirement is 5x – then the load requirement is really 12,500 lb for each unit? Since we must assume the bottom unit is holding 4x fully loaded racks above it. Is this correct?
The bottom rack only must hold the 2500 pounds. Our boxes weigh about (60 pounds X 8) + 110 pallet = 590 X 4 pallets =2,360 pounds on the bottom pallet. This is why we require them to hold 2500 pounds.
If design submittal IS required – are drawings required also? Is it required to have approved engineering sign offs?
We do not need a signed design sheet however the pallets must be able to hold the weight and the weight requirements. We do need to have a design sheet and we will need to approve it before we accept the proposal. There will be of course small potential changes as the pallet racks need to work with the ones we have.
Vendors are welcome to stop out and take measurements off the existing racks.
