Questions and Answers: Review design sheet it is on page 22 of 23.

Metal used to manufacture the table is not specified.

Carbon Steel

What type of metal do you require standard Carbon steel?

Low or Mild Carbon Steel

What is the overall height of the table?

About 3.5 inches

What is the width of the Table?

Please review design sheet it shows 9’ X 45”

What type and how many structural member are used for the upright members which tie the top to bottom? Look at diagram design sheet welds are where metal connection points.

Top of table is made from 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" x 3/16" angle 9 feet long, 4 runs.

What is the spacing of these 4 angle runs Review Design sheet page

How are the 4 runs held together?

Bottom Plate:

6" Wide x 1/4" thick, 45 inches long 2 runs.

What is the spacing of these 2 runs.

How are the 2 runs held together?

Does the Bottom plate lie on the top of the square tubing?

Bottom of angle iron. Review Design sheet page

Bottom: Review Design sheet page 2.5" square tube x 11gage, 45 inches long, 2 runs.

What is the spacing of these 2 runs.

How are the 2 runs held together?

Powder Coating:

There are many shades of black power coating, also you can have flat, semigloss, gloss or textured black powder coating.

Please specify what black powder coating is require?

Standard Black is fine, Gloss

General:

Is it required that the materials be of USA origin? Yes as required by the Buy American Supplies clause included in this RFQ- 52.225-1 Is first article required? Not Required Is partial delivery allowed? Yes Is there a history on these tables? Yes we have similar tables in our other Greenhouses.

6" wide plate:

6 " wide x 1/4" thick plates, which are welded to underside of the table specified as " iron roller plate", may these plates be Steel A-36 mild or low carbon steel or equal.

or equal since the balance of the frame is specified as steel?

Read specifications and Look at photos:

1. Tops: 1 1/2” 3/16 gage Angle Iron: 4 runs 9’ long each

2. Bottom: 2.5” 11gage square tubing: 4 runs 45” each

3. Bottom Plate: 6” wide ¼”thick, 2 runs 45” each

Tolerance:

There is no tolerance requirements stated on the Sketch.

We will use + or- 1/8" (or better) on the 96" dimension.

All other dimension will be + or- 1/16" (or better).

Is this acceptable?

A + or – of a 1/16” is acceptable but as close to the 96” dimension is desired.

Ends of 2.5" square tubing:

Sketch shown open ends mark with an "X" does this indicate that you want the ends of tube closed off with a 1/8" plate welded in place?

The X just indicates the square tubing, as in the photos those ends are open

Angles:

Are the ends of the 1.5" x1.5" x 3/16' thick steel angles are the ends of these angles left open, drawing is not clear on this point?

They are open

Black Powder coating:

Will be applied to all exterior surfaces of the table, if tube ends and angle ends left open .we can only powder coat small area of the internal surfaces, of these structural members. That is ok spray as much as you can.

In the event we are successful with our bid, may we place our small "stick on" nameplate on to the table?

Yes Is industrial grade thermoplastic powder coating okay?

Yes, Thermoplastics or Thermosets are fine.

Are you defining industry standards in powder coating as 2-3 mils thick and sandblasted to white metal?

Yes, that is correct. Sandblasted to white metal and 2-3 mil powder coating.

Would the government consider an alternate to powder coating ? The final thickness would be equal to or more than powder coating with painting. Hot dip galvanizing is another option.

No alternate methods will be accepted to the powder coating requirements.

Would the Forest Service be open to partial deliveries?

Yes Partial deliveries are acceptable

#1 Call out on the attached and below - Is a weld required on the plate and the tube here?

If yes, is the weld requirement on top, bottom or both?

Yes, bottom every 6”

Are welds along all of the Angle iron intersections (Call out #2) adequate? They are also required as you can see in the photos.
