Text version

1. “type of aggregates and specs for aggregates to be used on the trail construction and the pad?”

Answer: Reference Specification 312300 Part 2.

2. “The second was regarding the concrete steps. It says in the specs for the concrete steps they must be fabricated by a PCI-certified plant, minimum 5 years of experience providing architectural precast concrete products. There are not any local PCI certified plants to my knowledge. Will this be a critical requirement to meet or would a non-PCI certified plant operator with necessary experience producing casted concrete products be sufficient so long as all other specs are met?”

Answer: A concrete casting plant that can show 5 years experience with successful precasting of concrete features that meets all other specification requirements and strength requirements WILL be accepted, include a quality control plan in the submittals along with other required submittals for mix design as required in the specifications and plans.

3. “Can you tell me how long the boardwalk will be?”

Answer: The boardwalk appears to be about 120’ based on using the scale bar in the lower left corner of the drawing.

4. “Can you please ask if we can use Alaskan Yellow Cedar Glulam instead of Solid Sawn AYC? Or Treated Douglas Fir Glulam? “

Answer: Douglas Fir Glulam will not be accepted. The government will accept yellow cedar glulam members suitable for exterior applications that have been manufactured in accordance with APA and ANSI standards that match size and strength requirements of the solid sawn members.
