1. Is there a specific length you want them in or just 2’ multiples?

a. The government requires the lengths to be in 2’ multiples.

2. Do you want them 8’ long or 10’ long or 12’ long?

a. Boards are required to be 2’ in length, see the items description in the solicitation and the schedule of items.

3. In that you have not given much idea of the end use of these 3x12's-- you have not indicated - other than inferred

- what the surfacing is that you are seeking. Please clarify 'split trail surface' -- . I am guessing you want the 6x12 S4S - and the split done 'rough sawn' - however, in our business and yours -- not a good thing to 'guess'.

a. The government is requesting 3-inch (3”) x 12-inch (12”) x 2-foot (2’) boards. See the items description in the solicitation and the schedule of items.

4. Just to make certain, you are seeking 500 pc's of 3x12 2' - which would be the 6x12 divided into two 3x12's - and 2' wide - to make 1000 LF. Yes?

a. The government is seeking 1000 LF of yellow or red cedar to be used at puncheon board that is 3” thick x 12” wide x 2’ long. This equates to 500 pieces of board.

5. We did not see a grade specified for the Cedar - or a moisture content. Will you identify please?

a. Grades 3 or 4 are acceptable; however, packaging of the completed pieces shall not exceed 1500 pounds. Each load shall be wrapped to keep the lumber as dry as possible.

6. We see the destination is Petersburg, AK - located on the map in islands off the coast of British Columbia. Do you suggest shipping directly to Petersburg - or another port and trucking freight to Petersburg?

a. The items are to be shipped directly to Petersburg. There are no roads from the mainland to the island that Peterburg is located.

7. In that this would most likely be a custom job, a two week allowance is 'tight' for production and shipping - unless all of the stars are perfectly aligned. Can we just offer our best?

a. The government will extend the required delivery date to either 15 June 2024 or the proposed delivery date from the contractor that is most advantageous for this procurement.

8. We are hoping you can allow more time for the performance of this work. Please let us know if this is possible.

a. See response to question 7.

9. Please provide me the manufacture name of this solicitation.

a. There is no specific manufacturer for cedar boards, the boards are processed from trees.
