About this file

This document includes a pre-proposal conference file and related federal contract opportunity solicitation. The pre-proposal conference file provides details for vegetation management work on the Seward Ranger District, including that a Goshawk nest was found which may impact timing of work in some units from March through August, landing sites will be designated by the Forest Service, log lengths should be 22 feet but can be up to 40 feet, and a contractor must supply and install but not remove a 24-inch diameter 20-foot long culvert between two units. The related solicitation seeks proposals for a firm fixed price contract to conduct vegetation enhancement through mechanical timber harvest, slash treatment, and scarification on the Seward Ranger District, with a pre-proposal conference scheduled for August 10, 2021. The selected contractor will perform work for the Agriculture Department's Forest Service R10-Alaska Region.
