About this file

This is Amendment 02 to Request for Quote (RFQ) No. 1240BD26Q0076 for "Buck & Rail Fence Products" issued by the USDA Forest Service Field Procurement Operations (FPO), CSA #2. The amendment is effective July 29, 2026, and was issued by Contracting Officer Brian A. Johnson.

Amendment 02 provides Questions & Answers Round #2 clarifying product specifications and delivery logistics. Key approvals include: (1) the Forest Service will provide a forklift on site for product unloading, requiring vendors to coordinate with technical POC Helen Lau; (2) for Item No. 0001, dimensions of 7' x 5.6" are acceptable; (3) for Item No. 0002, dimensions of 5' x 5.6" are acceptable; and (4) a sample drawing of a constructed buck and 3-pole fence configuration is provided. Informational notes specify that shorter fencing is for riparian/wetland vehicle protection and aesthetic purposes while taller fencing (minimum 7') protects aspen from elk browsing after burns; variants must not exceed 1' shorter than specified heights, with prices evaluated for fair and reasonableness if suppliers only produce 8' units. Additionally, buck notches must align properly, and offerors are responsible for determining required notch angles and depths according to long-standing buck and rail fence construction standards. All other terms and conditions of the original solicitation remain unchanged.

Amendment 02

RFQ No 1240BD26Q0076

Questions & Answers Round #2

Vendor Question #1 (From Amendment 01): Will the Forest Service provide a forklift to support delivery of products?

Forest Service Answer #1: Yes, the Forest Service will have a forklift on site to unload the products.

For coordination purposes, please notify the technical POC, Helen Lau, as soon as possible for forklift coordination purposes.

Vendor Question #2: For Item No. 0001, will 7’ x 5.6” be acceptable?

Forest Service Answer #2: Yes

Vendor Question #3: For Item No. 0002, will 5’ x 5.6” be acceptable?

Variants to these heights must not be more than 1’ shorter.

Informational Note B: The buck with notches must line up.

Vendor Question #4: Do you have a sample drawing of a constructed fence?

Forest Service Answer #4: Yes—

Informational Note C: The offeror is responsible for determining required notch angles and depths according to long-standing buck & rail fence construction.
