About this file

This document outlines requirements for temporary housing units to support fire crews. The U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service requires the delivery of 10 trailer units by March 1, 2024 for a period of approximately three years. The units will be placed at seven sites at a Job Corps center and three sites at a Ripplebrook Fire Station. While models and lengths can vary, three of the Job Corps sites can only accommodate 30-foot units. Amenities should include electric, water, sewer, and microwave ovens, though propane will not be needed. Space heaters and laundry trailers will be acceptable. Purchase or lease options are available, with placement required by February 28, 2024. Site coordinates are provided for 10 pads at two locations.

PERFORMANCE

PERIOD –

DELIVERY DATE

How soon and for how long will the temporary houses be needed?

Approximately 3 years; we would prefer to have delivery no later than March 1, 2024, to allow us time to prepare for crew arrival.

UTILITY o Connect to existing RV utility hookups for water, electrical, and sewer.

o i. Must Not require gas/propane.

If the trailer's I have have propane hookups could I add hot plates for cooking services in lieu of propane?

Hot plates would be acceptable as long as there is also a microwave oven.

LAUNDRY • If laundry is not in each unit would it be acceptable to put a specific laundry trailer on one of the pads?

There is already an alternative arrangement for laundry to be done at the Job Core center.

MODEL/LENGTH • Do you want each trailer to be identical or can they vary models and layouts?

Models can vary as long as each one can house two persons. Three of the pads can only accommodate a 30’-foot trailer; the remainder could be larger.

ELECTRICAL • Are the hookups 30 or 50 amps? The sites are dedicated RV pads with electric, water, and sewer utility hookups. The electrical has both 50A and 30A hookups.

SITE LOCATIONS Site photos (attached) with lat and long I have two locations where I am placing the trailers: Job Corps (7) and Ripplebrook Fire Station (3).All sites could fit a maximum-40’ foot trailer, but three of the Job Corps sites would be a tighter fit (less than 40’ is preferable).

HEATING Can the heat be a space heater? Space heaters would be acceptable as long as they do not pose a fire hazard.
