About this file

This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a federal contract opportunity issued by the United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Plant Science Research Unit in Raleigh, North Carolina. The SOW requires targeted genotyping by sequencing (GBS) of 2,400 wheat samples using the AgriSeq wheat genotyping panel, which consists of 4,000 informative genomic targets. The service must include DNA library preparation, sequencing to achieve a mean target coverage of at least 100x, and delivery of the resulting AgriSeq wheat panel target variant calls in the form of genotype call hapmaps and Variant Call Format (VCF) files. The deliverables must be provided within 30 days of sample submission.

The related federal contract opportunity, solicitation number 12405B24Q0538, is a request for quotation (RFQ) for the same targeted GBS service. The USDA, ARS in Raleigh, North Carolina requires the service, and the NAICS code is 541380 - Testing Laboratories and Services. Offers must include a quote on company letterhead and the FAR 52.212-3 Offeror Representations and Certifications. The significant evaluation factors, in order of importance, are technical capability, past performance, and price. Award will be made based on best value to the government, and the anticipated contract type is firm-fixed-price. Offers are due by 10:00 a.m. Central Standard Time on September 5, 2024.

The United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Plant Science

Research Unit, Raleigh, North Carolina requires targeted genotyping by sequencing (GBS) of

2400 wheat samples with the AgriSeq wheat genotyping panel. The AgriSeq wheat genotyping panel consists of 4000 specific informative genomic targets identified by scientists at the USDA-

ARS Regional Small Grains Genotyping Laboratories. The resulting genetic marker data will be used in conjunction with the Plant Science Research Unit’s investigation into the complex genetic traits of plants.

Requirements:

The service must include:

(i) DNA Library preparation for 2400 wheat samples for AgriSeq targeted GBS.

(ii) Sequencing of prepared AgriSeq DNA libraries with a mean target coverage of no less than 100x.

(iii) Delivery of AgriSeq wheat panel target variant calls in the form of a genotype call hapmaps and corresponding Variant Call Format (VCF) files.

(iv) Library preparation and sequencing completed, and deliverables returned no longer than 30 days after sample submission.
