About this file

This document is an amendment to a solicitation for construction services to seal windows and replace damaged interior materials at a USDA facility in Stoneville, Mississippi. The solicitation number is 12405B21R0025 and seeks to furnish all labor, materials, and equipment to remove existing aluminum storefront framing and glazing, install new aluminum storefront windows, remove and replace water damaged gypsum board and plastic laminate stools with solid surface units throughout the building. Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management and may visit the site to ask questions. The amendment answers a question clarifying that the industry standard white finish for the new storefront would be a Kynar 500 coating at a dry film thickness of 1.2 mils.

CHANGES CLAUSE - 52.243-4

Amendment #02 is being issued to answer question received.

QUESTION: Regarding the aluminum storefront framing- the specifications call for a “white anodized” finish. The vendors I’ve reached out to tell me this finish is not a possible option. Is Class II clear anodized or white painted acceptable?

ANSWER: Provide a white finish on the storefront similar to the existing. The industry’s standard architectural coating would be a Kynar 500 coating with a dry film thickness of 1.2 mils.
