About this file
This document is a set of vendor questions related to a federal solicitation for the procurement of face masks. The solicitation is for 3,052 boxes of 50 masks, for a total of 152,600 masks. The masks must be ASTM level 3 rated, but do not need to be N95 or KN95. The vendor is planning to offer an equivalent product and inquiring whether they need to note this on the SF 1449 form or include a separate attachment with product specifications. The government response indicates the vendor does not need to note the equivalency on the SF 1449, but should include enough information to demonstrate the equivalency of their offered product, which will not be deemed nonresponsive.

Vendor Questions #1
The specification mentioned was "3,052 of boxes of 50." Could you please confirm whether this figure refers to the number of boxes or the total number of masks?
For pricing purposes, it's important for us to understand whether you are expecting 3,052 boxes, each containing 50 masks, which would total 152,600 masks, or if the figure of 3,052 refers directly to the total number of masks expected.
We are looking to purchase 3,052 boxes, each containing 50 masks, for a total of 152,600 masks.
Do these need to be N95 or KN95 rated?
No, this specific mask only needs to be ASTM level 3.
I'm planning to bid on this solicitation and am offering an equivalent product. As the req states "Only the required minimum amount of information is requested to provide for proper evaluation." I want comply so my bid isn't deemed nonresponsive for providing too much info.
1. Should I note that somewhere on the SF1449?
1. And/or should I include an attachment with the item description and specs?
You do not need to note the equivalency on the SF 1449, but you are free to do so if you would like.
Please include enough specifications to ascertain the equivalency of your product. This will not be deemed nonresponsive.
