Answered Vendor Questions May 26, 2020

1. Is this a new requirement or follow-on requirement? If a follow-on, who is the incumbent and what is the incumbent contract number?

a. This is a follow-on requirement. The incumbent contractor is Rite-Weight, Inc., and the incumbent contract number is 123A9419P0069.

2. Will all of the scales and balances be available to calibrate, certify and clean at one time?

a. Yes, they will all be available at one time.

3. For repairs, is this under a separate CLIN?

a. Yes, we will issue a separate CLIN on the purchase order, which will initially have no funding. We understand that potential repairs will be billed separately.

4. What is the CLIN structure? Is there a schedule B?

a. We anticipate issuing a purchase order with two CLINS. The list of equipment to be serviced will be attached separately, as will the Statement of Work. We do not anticipate creating a formal Section B in the purchase order.

5. Can the USG provide guidance or instructions to offerors for proposal/quote submission?

a. Please follow the instructions in the description section of the notice of combined synopsis/solicitation. Submit all quotations to Thomas Nasvytis, at thomas.nasvytis@usda.gov.

6. Can you confirm that the laboratory’s normal working hours are 8:00am through 1:00pm, as stated in the Statement of Work? Is this the time a vendor would be allowed to perform the calibration, certification, and cleaning of balances?

a. Yes, those are the preferred hours - this will allow the contractor time in the afternoon to finish if it takes longer than anticipated.
