Contractor Questions and Answers

1. We have read the SOW and are slightly unclear whether his will be materials delivery only, or are you in need of installation also? Materials delivery only

2. I understand 5.5' x 1.33lb/ft. Is the overall length 6' and leaves 5.5' OAL from the top of the plate to the top of the t-post? So, the whole post is 5.5 feet from top to bottom regardless of where the spade sits. The spades sit in different spots depending on the manufacturer of the post.

3. On the Drill pipe I can find 2 7/8" Redband pipe but it's in used condition . Is this acceptable? Yes, it’s always used, my preference is that it’s cleaned.

4. Will there be someone at the sites with notice to unload the trucks when they arrive or do we have to rent forklifts to unload? Yes, there will be a forklift with an operator to unload.

5. On the Smooth wire it says its 4 Rolls Per mile.. On the Barbed it says 36 Rolls Per mile @ 28 Miles . On bid line item # BB Are you asking for 1008 Rolls of barbed wire At 1320 Feet each?

So, the smooth wire is for 1 strand of fence, the barbed is the other 3 strands. Yes, 1008 rolls of barbed wire and 112 rolls of smooth.

6. It calls out for rail steel for T-posts, would billet steel be acceptable? No, rail steel.

7. I have all the materials and freight pricing together for Fremont NF Wildfire fencing materials. Before I send this in, I wanted to confirm if you will have a machine on site for unloading? I would like to know what the capacity of this machine is as well. We will need to load these trucks accordingly. If you do not have any means to unload this materials, I can see about adding this to the bid. Yes, we have fork lifts at both locations, I don’t know exactly what the pay load is, but they’re capable of handling full pallets of tposts and wire.

8. Can you please confirm the quantity breakdown. Item number BA for example it says 352 posts/mile for 28 miles. 9856 T-post would be the required amount? Do you want me to give an exact quantity breakdown of each item? BA, yes it’s 9856 posts. Recognizing posts come in bundles of 5, so to the nearest is fine. Again, I’m looking at the most material for my dollar rather than a specific amount of material. BB would be 336 rolls of barbed wire. BC would be 112 rolls of smooth wire.

9. Are the option items for Fence Material 2 and 4 just a possible add on, or are they going to be required? They will be required but they may not be exercised or obligated at time of award.
